Passion. Does everyone have it about something in their lives? Does each individual feel strongly about something? Does every person love to do or see or read or learn or make something? I ask this as I find mylesf getting down on myself for not passionately pursuing something. I work with a man who loves what he does beyond a describable degree. Everything he does is work related. Whether researching, cleaning, buying or preparing, he's always thinking about cameras. He loves what he does. Is this an obsession or a passion? Is it normal or abnormal?
Do humans need something in their lives to passionately pursue in order to feel validated or important or worthwhile? I like to play sports, I'm good at sports but by no means would I say I'm a sports nut. I like clothes, I buy clothes, I wear clothes, but by no means would I call myself a clothes horse. I like the outdoors, I spend time in the outdoors but I wouldn't call myself an outdoorsman. Is this a missing piece of the personality pie? I feel ok about it most of the time but then when I meet someone with an intense passion I feel somehow lacking. Basically this is a mini pity party for one and I will end it here. Maybe I'll go out and buy a guitar and fall madly in love with it and all will be righted.
